I lost my tooth but then I lost it....

Sawyer has been waiting and working and waiting and working some more...on trying to lose another tooth. The poor child has gone almost 6 months since she lost her first tooth.

Last week she finally got her tooth to really start to wiggle. In fact she could wiggle it with just her tongue. She was so excited, and when I went to see how wiggly it really was, I noticed something disturbing!!! Her new tooth was already coming in...but it was behind her baby teeth!!! AHHHH. Her teeth seem so big, and her mouth so small, I just hope she has enough room.

And then tonight, as Sawyer was playing Disney Princess Fashion Design on the computer, and munching on rainbow gold fish crackers...she realized that her tooth was gone!!! We looked everywhere!!! It was nowhere to be found. We decided that she must have swallowed her tooth. She was so sad. Sawyer wrote a letter to the tooth fairy, apologizing for losing her tooth...and the tooth fair left her a $2 bill and a note saying that Sawyer had nothing to worry about, she had found the tooth and so they were even.

Who knew losing teeth would be this complicated???

Family BBQ

Every year the Brenner Family has a BBQ. Actually, Scott's adorable Aunt Andi sets it all up. Since it's in the summer, and Scott is a workaholic, he has never gone to the BBQ...but Sawyer and I go every year that we are in town. It's a lot of fun, with good company, good food and fun games.
Last year we showed up and all the families had done t-shirts. We hadn't done one, so this year we came prepared.

Cheryl is such a wonderful grandma. Every time Sawyer goes to her house, Cheryl has at least 2 if not more new activities for the two of them to do together. I have no idea how she keeps coming up with these things. Since she has such a fun time with crafts and all the activities she does for Sawyer, I knew she could come up with a cute idea for our family shirt. We finally decided on doing an iron-on picture of those of us actually going to the BBQ.

The picture turned out really cute and it went on great once I finally put them on white shirts (I tried red at first and had to stop when I realized we looked like pink aliens). Even Reed got his own little onesie.
Sawyer had so much fun running around, swimming and playing her own version of badminton, since it was too windy to play a real game this year.
Reed wouldn't lay down at his normal nap time...but an hour later, I laid him down and he passed out exhausted. I've never seen him look so tired. Poor little guy.

Cant' wait for next year! Maybe Scott will finally take some time off to come!

10 Months

What an amazing month this has been. Reed has gotten back on track...he's sleeping like he use to, he's napping like a champ and he's been my sweet little boy.

Reed has learned to walk, even though he prefers to crawl. He now crawls faster than I can keep up with and he's started to talk...both in sign language and with his words. He's just getting so big so fast.

He started out the month by saying Dada whenever he say his dad. It was so sweet. Now he will say it on demand. He also learned to sign "all done" and will actually say "ahh dun" when I'm not fast enough to catch him signing it. He just started signing "more" and "eat". Of course all his signs have to do with food and eating, but we're working on it.

Then, just a few days ago, on the 16th, Reed said Mama when trying to get my attention. It was so sweet. Of course he doesn't say it as much as I'd like, but when he does say it...it melts my heart, especially when he says it without being prompted.

Water Babies

We got a new pool and the babies LOVE it!
I can' keep them out of it.

They've been having fun swiming, going down the slide...and playing in the sprayers. Reed would swim by himself if I let him.

It's been so fun to watch.

The Fair

We went to the fair today...it was the perfect day and time to do it. We got there early, and it was wear your Awesome 3000 shirt and get in free, plus it was buddy wristband day, so Sawyer and I rode all the rides we wanted...as many times as we wanted!! It was fabulous...perfect weather, not crowded, and all the rides we could ride!

Sawyer did awesome at the Fire Department competition where she had to run an obstacle course. Crawling through a tunnel, saving a teddy bear, carrying the hose, putting the fire out. It was a breeze. Even better was that she looked fabulous doing it!!
Reed loved the animals. When we went into the petting zoo, Sawyer was touching everything and Reed just wanted to touch everything. He loved the pig and the pig kept wanting to sniff Reed. The horses were great and since we were there so early, all the kids were more than happy to show off their animals to us!

Happy 4th of July

It just wouldn't be the 4th of July without ribs and baked beans.... Sawyer enjoying ribs for the 1st time... Diego digging into baked beans!
This 4th of July Scott didn't have to work the whole day! WHOOPEE!! We never seem to get him for these kind of holiday's, he's usually working all day covering traffic, parades, events. But this year, due to the fact that some admin (who don't have to work the holiday) tried to do some very underhanded manipulation to the traffic team's schedules, they ended up having to give them most of the day off and then paying them overtime for the time that they did go in. Again, WHOOPEE!! Sometimes things work out for the best...
We enjoyed the afternoon at Lee and Cheryl's, under their big tree. The babies had such a fun time, and since the Diaz' joined us, we had three little boys playing on the toys, in the water and entertaining each other.

Reed and Brady are just a few months apart and at this stage they weren't so interested in each other, but it will be fun for Reed to have a playmate around at family gatherings when they get older!

Meghan bought all the kids 4th of July shirts. Reed and Diego looked so cute in their matching outfits!

Sawyer got her fireworks during the early evening this year. She was so bummed it wasn't dark...but I knew she'd never be able to stay awake until 10pm. So, we set off a small set of fireworks...and it was a nice little display. The best part was that all the babies seemed to enjoy them, rather than be afraid of them. Hopefully a sign of good things to come!

Baby's First Trip to the Zoo

Today was Reed's first trip to the Portland Zoo, and at 9 months old, he loved it more than I would have guessed. He loved looking at the animals, and would try to get out of his seat to get a closer look. It was so funny to see him smile and wave at the hippos, the elephants and the giraffe. I held him up to see some of the smaller animals, and I really think he was disappointed he wasn't able to touch and pet them all.

It was a perfect zoo trip. The weather was wonderful and the zoo was not very busy. I think we'll go on Wednesday's all summer long.

Lego Land

Sawyer loves her Lego's. She spent a couple of hours building her own version of Lego land. She's never actually been to Lego land, she's just been to the Lego store at Washington Square but that's not stopping her from wanting to create her own little Lego world....
